Analog signals are converted to digital data by recording a consecutive series of "samples" of the analog signal at a fixed frequency or "rate". The number of samples taken per second is referred to as the "sampling rate". Music CD technology uses a standard sampling rate of 44.1kHz, which is 44,100 samples per second, and a resolution of 16 bits. This means that all data processed with PTS-AudioCD MP3-StudioAudioCD MP3 Studio 2000 must be recorded at this sampling rate to be compatible with the music CD format. The program will refuse to accept files recorded at other sampling rates and bit resolutions.
